Not a substitute for medical treatment
CLEAR is a supportive, educational tool to accompany you in giving up alcohol. The app does not replace medical, psychological or therapeutic advice, diagnosis or treatment. Content in CLEAR does not constitute medical advice. Do not make decisions about stopping alcohol or medication based on this app alone.
Dangers of withdrawal
In cases of physical dependence, sudden withdrawal can lead to serious complications (including seizures or delirium). If you drink daily or in large amounts, or have had withdrawal symptoms during earlier breaks, talk to a doctor before stopping.
Not a medical device
In its current form, CLEAR is a beta prototype and not an approved medical device and not a digital health application (DiGA). There is no claim to a medical treatment outcome.
Notes on the evidence
The principles described on the home page are based on published literature and guidelines (incl. SAMHSA, NIH/NCBI, Cochrane). Any effectiveness figures refer to the cited studies on therapeutic methods and not to this app itself. Individual results may vary.
Liability for content
The content of this app has been created with the greatest possible care. However, no guarantee is given for its accuracy, completeness or timeliness. Use of the app is at your own responsibility.
Liability for links
This app contains links to external third-party websites over whose content we have no influence. The respective provider is always responsible for that content.
Help & advice
You can find support from, among others, your GP, an addiction & drugs helpline, crisis counselling services or an out-of-hours medical service. (The helplines listed in the app are for Germany; other numbers may apply in your country.)
